Job vacancy: System Engineer, UPM Serdang

Responsibilities:

Assisting Technical Services Manager to design, plan and implement cluster system infrastructure including new environments and architecture and upgrades.
To provide System designs, monitor, report and resolve problems timely, based on industry’s best practices.
Ensuring all Service Level Agreements with customers (internal and external) are met and maintained.
To research and develop a cost effective and scalable technical systems architecture and solutions to ensure B2BE can maintain its cost effectiveness, and provide relevant solutions to continue the provision of high end available systems and software.
Implementing, configuring and maintaining network hardware and software. Connecting user nodes and peripherals of all kinds to the network.
Managing security such as user accounts, passwords, storage space, and file-access privileges.
Creating and maintaining production system backup & DR requirement. Ensuring ongoing security of the system and network including any enhancements from time to time.
Manage infrastructure servers: AD, Web, DNS, FTP, MySQL, Secure FTP, SSH, etc.
Setup, manage and enhance system alert monitoring tools from time to time.
Ensuring all critical system services are monitored to meet up-time requirements.
Helping Network Administrators to manage network communication and technical infrastructure as well as design, install and integrate new infrastructure.
Maintaining and upgrading key client and internal network communication architecture, infrastructure services and solutions.



Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Required skill(s): In depth experiences in installation, configuration, monitoring and management of Linux based operating systems and environments including shell scripting, proficient in Linux / Unix system setup and maintenance (Centos, Redhat, SUSE, etc.), experienced in DR planning and support requirement, and a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Firewall and VPN.
Preferred skill(s): Candidates with Microsoft certification or other IT certification would be viewed as an advantage. Knowledge of MySQL databases and networking products (Netscreen, Cisco) would be highly advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of motivation and energy.
Ability to work in a team environment .
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in a multiple operating system support environment.
Preferably Senior Executives specializing in IT/Computer – Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.
